The newest inductees were Robert Bates of Forest Hill, a former Secret Service agent; Carlos and Mary Flake Flores of Pineville, the former president of Honduras and his wife; New Orleans District Attorney Eddie Jordan; J. Curtis Joubert of Eunice, a former state legislator and public service commissioner; former Times-Picayune investigative reporter and state Inspector General Bill Lynch; Barbara Boggs Sigmund, formerly of New Orleans, the late daughter of U.S. Reps. Hale and Lindy Boggs and herself a former mayor of Princeton, N.J.; and state Rep. Francis Thompson, D-Delhi.
Bates started his Secret Service career in 1965 by accompanying President Johnson on domestic and foreign trips. Bates provided security for Johnson and Nixon's children while the children were in college. He was later assigned to the Nixon White House.
