John W. W. Young, Jr. Medical Foundation
"Recycling Dollars to Recycle Life"
February 24, 2005
Hello Friends and Supporters,
Help us keep Shirley Andrews alive. Well as you may remember we lost three patients last year, Martha Flores, Dwayne Jones, and Carlos Portillo. Three patients who approached the Foundation for financial help through the Board in Belize. Unfortunately we were not able to help them due to the lack of funds at that time.
We are happy to report that we have taken on payment of Shirley Andrews dialysis cost since last year January 2004. We are now sending $1,000. US a month which becomes $2000. bze. Her actual monthly treatment cost is $3000. Bze. We have depleted all our funds but is currently paid up to February 3, 2005.
Shirley is a 40 year old unemployed mother of two children, and is struggling to find the $1,000. bze that she needs for her shared payment.. The Foundation is also struggling to meet the $1,000. US., hence our reason for coming to you for support. We are hopeful and prayerfully seeking funding from established foundations and Co-operations that will donate to our project.
Please help us to prolong the life of Shirley for as along as the average life of a dialysis patient will allow through dialysis treatment. We need one hundred committed persons to send us a monthly contribution of $10.00 in order to meet her payments.
Believe us every penny given is properly accounted for and we invite you to come and view our records to see how your giving is spent.
Thank you for your kind attention, your generosity and your love for helping the unfortunate, especially those who are struggling to stay alive. May God continue to bless you as He provides you so you can help those in dire need.
Sincerely yours,
P. Olivia Young
Chair/CEO
About The Foundation
The John W. W. Young Jr. Medical Foundation was established in 1998 fulfilling the request of a young man who believed his death should have some meaning. John Jr. did not see adversity in his illness. He saw and embraced an opportunity to help others. He conveyed his wish to establish a dialysis center. This was an act of unselfish devotion to humanity and to those victims of kidney failure, John Jr. made a special commitment to “alleviating the pain and disability of others.” From his vision, sprang the “Foundation,” A symbol of hope for all who need it.
