Beginning this year, New Horizon Investment Club will establish the Community Recognition Awards to recognize individuals and organizations for their outstanding achievements in the areas of sustained leadership to the community, education, community development, commitment to the community, and sustained service to the community. Recipients are selected for their leadership skills, commitment, community involvement, work experience and dedication. Their spirit and commitment demonstrate a fundamental truth: that leaders working together can build a community. Award recipients will be honored every year at a Community Recognition Dinner held on the first Saturday of December. This year’s Recognition Dinner will be held on Saturday December 6th at Maestro’s Caterers.
This year’s recipients are:
Dionisia Amaya – Executive Director, MUGAMA for 30 years of community service
Murphy Valentine – Director, Centro America Show – for 10 years of community TV service
Rejil Solis – President, Garifuna Coalition USA, Inc. – for 5 years of community leadership
Our elegant cocktail reception at Maestro’s Caterers’ Grand Ballroom will offer excellent opportunities for networking with prominent community leaders as well as from Central America and mingling with family and friends. You will also enjoy world-class cuisine, impeccable service, and top-notch entertainment at our prestigious gala and banquet. Crowning the day’s events will be the Community Recognition Awards ceremony.
