Bowdoin College students have been back from spring break for almost a week, but for Alternative Spring Break (ASB) participants, who served impoverished communities for half of their vacation, the experience won't soon be forgotten.
With fresh memories of their trips to places such as Nicaragua, Peru, Washington, D.C., and Harlem, ASB participants kicked off Bowdoin's first kNOw Poverty Week on Tuesday by displaying photos and sharing reflections from their trips. The exhibit and other events of the week addressed and raised awareness about issues of poverty at a variety of levels.
