The North American Free Trade Agreement has disproportionately eliminated jobs among U.S. Hispanics, and the proposed Central American version is likely to do the same, a group of labor activists said Monday.
At a news briefing in Corpus Christi teleconferenced to reporters across the state, members of the Labor Council for Latin American Advancement said that although they are not against trade, such pacts should offer benefits to poor and working people, not just corporations.
