GARIFUNA NAMES

08/02/02
By: Clifford Palacio
The following is a list of suggested Garifuna names. The list is, by no means, complete, but the names may be helpful to those who wish to give their children Garifuna names that will connect them with Yurumein (St. Vincent) where their own roots and identity began. (1635-1797). Several forms of a particular word may be used. Example: Nanigi, b>Banigi, Lanigi, Tanigi, Wanigi, Hanigi, etc.
