Family passing in Guatemala...

03/19/04
By: Jerry Castro
Dear Friends,

As you may have learned, there was an accident in Guatemala on Thursday that claimed 13 lives as of this morning. One of the people who died is my aunt, Dalia Victoria Cayetano Martinez who leaves behind four children and two grand children and a loving family.

Throughout most of the day yesterday was spent on getting tickets to fly to Livingston. So far, most of my uncles, my mother, aunts and grandparents flew to Guatemala this morning, including Tia Toya's daughters, Mariela, Daisy and son Alonzo Cayetano.

My aunt was woman who up until today kept the tradition of going to the "maguidi" -market in puerto barrios to sell coconut bread, salt dried fish and kipulas.

I ask for your prayers and support, especially for my grandmother who did not take the news too well yesterday.

Here is a news clip I was able to get from Prensa Libre about the accident and names of the people who died in the accident.

Aba Isieni,

Jerry Castro
