Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, Teresa Heinz Kerry, Michael J. Fox, Laura Linney, Mary Tyler Moore, Kim Cattrall, Susan Sarandon, Larry King, Katie Couric and director Mike Nichols were among the 900 guests who paid their respects to Christopher Reeve at a private memorial service.
"His courage and inspiration will live on," Clinton said.
Reeve's widow, Dana, spoke at the service at the Juilliard School in New York, where Reeve studied acting and later received an honorary doctorate. His three children, Matthew, Alexandra and Will, were there, as were actors Glenn Close, Meryl Streep and Robin Williams, Reeve's Juilliard roommate.
