Emmy Rossum gives a luminous performance as the teenage soprano Christine Daae, who's awakened by the storms of love in the film adaptation of "The Phantom of the Opera." Even at her audition, she knew she had to be that extra bit radiant.
"I spent two hours in hair and makeup, and then came out to find a full crew, actors in costume, a piano, candelabra, everything," the 18-year-old actress recalls. "It was like we were making the movie."
