Part I

Get to know your artist's inner thoughts...

Q Who or what inspired you to become an artist?

A I always had a feeling to become an artist, but the one who really inspired me was “Moha Bob”, he is my favorite artist.

Q What kind of setting do you prefer when composing a song?

A . I find myself writing most of my songs in a studio now.

Q At what age were you aware of your talent?

A In Belize , I did a lot of school plays and singing rows. It wasn't until I was forced to do a play down in a Catholic school, Nativity: they wrote something for me to sing and I did it, I couldn't believe it, everyone was shocked, I was shocked myself but I was doing it. I was in about the sixth grade.

Q Do you always feel comfortable with your music – backing musicians, stage sets?

A I feel like the song writes itself. All my albums are way different moods, as far as writing styles. I feel like when I'm not writing on pen or paper the lyrics flow more, I'm not concentrated in just one thing, or phrase, when I'm creating in my head, a new verse comes along. Every time I hear my music I feel like there is something, I guess because I'm a professional, I think maybe it would have been better.

Q How did you fall in love with music?

A I've always liked music so I don't think I fell in love with it, it was something I always liked. I grew up in Hopkins with my dad. I remember my dad had a record player and I used to always mess around with it.

Q How long have you been performing?

A I would say that I have been performing for a long time, when I say a long time, I mean since I was in Dangriga, doing plays and what not, but as far as performances as what I'm doing now, when I was in Junior High, I did a lot of shows when they had assemblies, I was given the freedom to do whatever I wanted, I was in choir, in big elaborate stage performances in Junior High that no one else was doing. I guess because the music teachers always supported me, so I used to go to my music teachers and talk to the principal and ask to do the assemblies. I would do a Michael Jackson song, and have background singers, lights and I used to go all out with it. I was doing things like that since junior high; this was around 88-89.

Q Will you or do you go on tour to spread your music?

A I feel like I'm one of the most traveling artists. I get tired a lot, New York , Belize , I wish I could bypass the traveling, but other than that it's cool. For the most part I've been doing a lot of shows in California .
