Jimmy displayed a kind of audacity that many of the Punta Rockers today need. The man was humble, down to earth and charismatic. There are only two artists right now I can identify with those qualities...James Lovel and NURU.
One of the things that separates Jimmy from the others was that he never made people feel left out. Whether it was a baby, teen or an adult, it always the same result...Love and respect.
We used to meet at Dixon Marin's House when had that apartment in the Bronx. There will be Virgilio Lopez, Jimmy, Dixon, Franco Mena, Andres Cayetano and myself along with Pablo Gomez, Original to talk about what needed to be done to unify the people, to which he devoted his music to.
Plus, who can forget the magics he have worked during the Honduran Parades, uh?
When people came to the Parade, they knew that there was going to be a show. And once everything was over, only one name came out the mouths.
"Te perdistes el show de Jimmy".
That's from my side, but I am sure the rest of the members can elaborate and shed more light.
Plus, let me not forget...
Jimmy sold records in the hundreds as well as the thousands.
