Each individual is unique and bring to the table a set of years of experience from the music industry. They call themselves, “Los Monjes del Templo,” but who are they really, you may ask? Well no other than the legendaries, J King, Gadu Nunes, Tulio Laboriel and a few other yet unannounced members.
According to J King, one of the leaders of the upcoming new band, the band will station itself in the Templo Club, located in the Bronx, New York. The band is already rehearsing and sometimes in the upcoming months they expect to be performing at the Templo on a regular bases.
J King and Gadu Nunez have been performing for over 20 years. They are well known in the Garifuna community and each have had major hits in their musical career. Tulio Laboriel is well known for providing studio services to community artists and bands and has recently released an album of his own titled “El mero mero”
The need for a strong new, but talented Punta Rock band from New York has given birth to “Los Monjes Del Templo,” which combines the unparallel talents of these experienced artists, bringing the drums closer to your ears. Keep an ear open to hear more as Los Monjes form and become a major Punta Rock drumilistic players.
