Coconut milk, green and ripe plantain – Baruru!
The main ingredients of this Garifuna dish:
A pinch of salt, a dash of pepper,
For just that right flavor.
Halibut, Snapper, Tilapia or Pigtail,
Whatever your taste buds requires and desires.
The sweet aroma of the coconut milk simmering!
Have I tantalized your appetite yet?
Add some cilantro, onions,
And for your back don’t forget the okra!
Serve it hot with a splash of Marie Sharp,
Last but not least;
The plantain – Baruru!
Beaten mercilessly in the Hana with the Ourua,
Until the perfect texture and blend
Of ripe and green is achieved.
The tasty paste contours to your fingertips,
From the very first bite to the last.
A heavenly experience for all 5 senses,
When your belly is satisfied,
When you just can’t take another bite.
Simply sit back and relax!
Soon you will feel your eyes flutter,
And shortly after that, you will be in a Hudutu Slumber!
