This books is designated to help promote development of the Garifuna language among Garifuna children throughout the world.

The Garifuna people or Garinagu are a mixture of the descendants of African slaves and the indigenous caribs of the West Indies whose forefathers were deported from that area after emancipation and settled along the Caribbean Coast of Central America; therefore the purpose of this book is to revive the fast fading Garifuna language; and it should also serve as means to preserve the culture.

The story is designed to follow a normal day in a normal Garifuna community; because what a child says and how he says it are at the center of all activities the word Narenga is repeated throughout this book.

Parents are encouranged to articulate words with the children for better pronunciation.
