The star said Santa Barbara district attorney Tom Sneddon had a "vendetta" against him dating back to 1993.

But Santa Barbara Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville said Mr Jackson's lawyers failed to prove a conflict of interest or bias on Mr Sneddon's part.

Mr Jackson, 46, has pleaded not guilty to 10 child abuse charges.
