Christmas will be marked in the Southland today by religious services and various acts aimed at helping the poor and homeless.
Roman Catholic Cardinal Roger Mahony will celebrate the 10 a.m. Mass at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels and preside at the other Masses. Another English-language Mass is scheduled for 8 a.m. and a Spanish-language Mass is planned for 12:30 p.m.
The Union Station Foundation will host a "Christmas Dinner in the Park" for the less fortunate at Pasadena's Central Park, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Donations of prepared food in disposable containers can be made at the drop- off site at Fair Oaks Avenue and Del Mar Boulevard.
