The Bears are pitching in for Hurricane Katrina relief Sunday in their home opener at Soldier Field, and they'll do their part by playing close to home for New Orleans fans when they face the Saints in Baton Rouge, La., on Nov. 6.
Commissioner Paul Tagliabue announced Monday that four Saints games would be played at Tiger Stadium on the campus of LSU and three will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio. The Saints' ''home opener'' this Sunday will be in East Rutherford, N.J., against the New York Giants.
