Local teen, Morgan Brewer, and longtime Mendocino Coast resident and group leader, Annie Bacon, were among the 17 Seeds of Learning volunteers whose bus was hijacked outside of Quetzaltenango, Guatemala on Friday, July 16.
Seeds of Learning is a non-profit organization based in Sonoma that sponsors the building of schools and is dedicated to improving educational opportunities in rural Latin America. Each year, Seeds of Learning sends 10 to 12 groups of volunteers to Central America. These volunteers spend 10 days to three weeks working on community projects in both El Salvador and Nicaragua
