After about ten years in development at Warners, the Legend project picked up steam once again last fall when the studio brought on Lawrence and hired Oscar-winning scribe Akiva Goldsman to rewrite the original script done by Mark Protosevich. Set in post-apocalyptic New York, the sci fi thriller centers on the last healthy man (Smith) in the city trying to track the release of a virus that has destroyed the population. In order to survive, he must fight off mutants that are wreaking havoc on the city.
