Through a 1999-2000 joint venture agreement, Barrick and Brett previously evaluated the Tinta Amarilla prospect at the south end of the Property, completing 15 reverse circulation drill holes totaling 1,625.3 m. This program identified precious metal values of up to 12.57 g/t gold and 424 g/t silver over 1.5 m, but the exploration was unsuccessful in indicating a significant target of bulk mineable gold mineralization. During this JV, no exploration work was carried out at Santa Clara prospect, 6 km northeast of Tinta Amarilla.
