News » Big snakes, cheap thrills in 'Anacondas'
Aug 27, 2004

Detroit Free Press

Say what you will about "Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid," but its characters show some surprising smarts. Even when rattled by giant snakes, they try to stay in a group and mostly follow the lead of the one guy who knows what he's doing.
This in-name-only sequel to the 1997 horror-thriller doesn't attempt to make any story links with the previous film. Director Dwight Little and a laundry list of writers (among them Michigan-born Jim Cash) simply deliver a generic hungry snake movie, and on those terms, "Anacondas" can be kind of fun.
